Such a waste

It's stuff like this that makes me almost rethink my decision to not go into teaching.

But then I have to remember that I always hated getting up in time for school, even when I was a student. Maybe someday we should start a school that doesn't have any 'classes' before 10am, just lightly supervised playtime.

now you see why i am so adament about keeping our boys here in a real city on the west coast. i have lived in east texas/west louisiana, and annalisee had a real issue with the fact that they pride themselves on being dumb. in fact i am pretty sure that that family breifly attended my mom's church (there in longview), so i had heard her story before. Here, mulberry is doing ok, and as long as we keep G and J and others like them together as much as possible, we can find opportunities to keep them learning.
I cannot get out of my head how much some state or federal boarding schools would be huge assets to the world.
I understand that some schools just don't have the populations to support a real gifted program and asking families to move for it can be problatic. Here's my solution - ship 'em off. Hell, I would think the government would love to have its geniuses in one place.
I've also had more than a few student that would deeply benefit from being away from their parents influance.

And I've read too much Harry Potter - Hogwarts sounds like fun.
